Summary; Reader gives birth to a baby girl.

"Listen," you say, laughing at what Callie said, "You all act like Alex is this big bad guy, and he isn't,"

"It only took him a couple years to prove that," Owen mutters, making you look up at him for a moment, a slight glare in your eye.

"You didn't even know him beforehand. You're just saying that because you're jealous I'm married to him, instead of you," You say, laughing.

Callie joins in immediately, stepping back for a moment to recollect herself, while Owen chuckles to himself slightly. He asks for a scalpel, and the nurse hands if over, before going back to what he was doing.

"We know he's good now," Callie says, smiling at you, "You've set your roots with him, after all,"

She motions to you, mainly how you're married to him, but also because of how pregnant you are. The baby is supposed to come any day now, suspected in less than a week, but some are often born sooner.

Male are typically the ones that like to come out early, as females like to stay in for a little longer. Although those roles can be easily reversed, it all depends on how the baby feels about coming out.

You're pregnant with a girl. And as much as Alex wanted a boy to take care of first, he felt like exploding when he heard that it was a girl.

"Yeah, no turning back now, amiright?" You laugh, and they join in.

Maybe you shouldn't have laughed, because that seemed to trigger your water to break. Water runs down your leg, making you clench your teeth together. Of course, now, in the middle of the surgery, she'll decide to come out.

"What's wrong?" Owen asks, seeing your expression.

"Nothing," You lie, "She kicked is all, guess she didn't like the joke,"

"Do you want to sit down?" Callie asks, and you shake your head a little, before continuing.

But as contractions start, and then they begin to be one after another, you know that you can't be in the room anymore. Especially if you want to give birth to the girl in the first place.

"Okay," you place your hand on your stomach for a moment, squeezing your eyes shut hard enough to see stars, "Alright, alright,"

"(Y/n)?" Callie asks.

"Baby is coming—has been for the past thirty minutes, she just couldn't wait," you look at them with a half-smile, "Can someone get me a wheelchair?"

"Why did you tell us sooner?" Owen frowns slightly, and you shrug.

"Thought I could make it, obviously I can't—can someone also page Arizona and Alex? Arizona is supposed to be delivering,"

One of the nurses helps you scrub out, before placing you on top of a wheelchair and starting to bring you to one of the delivery rooms. The entire way she' asking you questions on how you feel, and what you're going to name the baby.

The honest answer is that you're not even sure yet, you and Alex are still bouncing names back and forth. His—natural—favorite is Alexandra, and you might even end up caving to the name.

When you finally showed up to the room, Alex was already there, waiting anxiously outside for you.

"Alex!" You call, he looks over, and a relief smile comes over his face.

"There you are, are you feeling okay?"

"Dumb question, of course not," you grin at him, and he rolls his eyes.

After the baby had been delivered, the entire room was full of your friends. Owen and Callie had finally showed up after the surgery—just twenty more goddamn minutes and they'd be done with everything they had to do.

Naturally, all of your friends were inside of the room, and it was crowded. A couple of times the nurses had to kick out some of them because of how loud it was getting, and the baby was becoming fussy.

Alex stands by you right now, holding the baby's hand with puckered lips, trying to make her laugh, even though it won't work. He knows that very well, but he still thinks it's fun to do.

"Alexandra—" Alex sings quietly to himself, you look up at him with a face.

"Be quiet, Alex," You laugh, looking back down at her, "Her name will end up as Hot Dog if you don't stop bothering me,"

"You won't—"

"Call the nurse in then," you grin at him.
